Jenny Olson is someone who believes joy is best shared like confetti. Her career has spanned over two decades at Microsoft, where she held global roles in communications, leadership development, marketing, and community engagement. She recently wrapped up her time as the Microsoft Fargo Site Leader and has now returned to her alma mater, Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, as Vice President for Advancement and Chief Executive Strategy Officer—a move that feels a bit like coming home.
In 2018, Jenny took a civic leave from Microsoft to help launch Recovery Reinvented, a nonprofit initiative in partnership with Governor Doug Burgum and First Lady Kathryn focused on eliminating the shame and stigma of addiction. That experience opened her eyes to the power of community and the impact of mission-driven work.
Jenny is passionate about creating memorable experiences—whether through her professional work, hosting theme parties, or spending time at the lake with her husband Ryan and their three daughters. She’s a fan of books, Broadway, brownies, and anything that sparkles. If she were an inanimate object, she’d be a confetti cannon—bringing color, energy, and joy to every space she enters.
